Vinyl siding expands and contracts more than almost any other exterior surface, especially through Gulf South heat swings between summer afternoons and cool nights. Ordinary paint is rigid. It cannot move with the vinyl underneath it, so it cracks, peels, and flakes off within a few years, faster than on almost any other substrate. Vinyl that has warped or buckled from heat exposure makes the problem worse, since paint bonds even less reliably to a surface that is no longer flat. That fast, repeat failure on vinyl is Climate Cancer doing what it does best: finding the weakest bond on your home and working it loose.
Standard exterior paint is not built to flex the way vinyl does. Even a good paint job on vinyl siding typically cracks or peels within a few years, well short of what you would expect from a repaint anywhere else on your home. Painting over warped or buckled vinyl without correcting it first just locks the problem in under a fresh coat that will not hold either.
Climate Proof Ceramic Coating is an elastomeric system, built to expand and contract with the surface underneath it instead of cracking. During the inspection, my crew identifies any vinyl that has warped or buckled and corrects it before coating, because coating over warped vinyl only telegraphs the problem through the finish. Where trim or wood behind the siding has taken water damage, we replace the damaged wood before anything gets coated. A bonding primer prepares the vinyl for adhesion the way ordinary paint cannot achieve, and the ceramic topcoat goes on far thicker than standard paint, which adds durability without losing the look of your siding. The system carries a 25 year transferable warranty against cracking, chipping, and peeling.
One system defends the three things that matter most about your home.
A coating that flexes with your vinyl instead of fighting it means no more cracking and peeling every few years.
Custom tinted, UV stable color keeps your siding looking new instead of fading, chalking, or flaking within a few seasons.
One coating replaces the repeat cycle of vinyl repainting, and the 25 year transferable warranty follows your home if you sell.
Kevin Mmahat, Exterior Home Protection Consultant
When you book your free Home Protection Consultation, I come out myself. I do not give estimates. I give diagnoses. I check every run of vinyl siding for warping, buckling, and existing paint failure, since those affect how the surface needs to be prepped before we coat. I tell you exactly what your siding needs, not just what a repaint would cover up. Then my crew corrects any warped sections, preps and primes the surface, and applies the ceramic system. You get an exact written number before a single thing begins.
